Learn to tell the time in “minutes past” and “minutes to” the hour in three easy steps with a real, good looking wall clock. The clock is completely silent – no ticking – so can be put anywhere without disturbing concentration.

Take a look at the photos to see how easy it is to learn the time with the EasyRead Time Teacher system. The two sides of the clock dial are colour coded – green on the right and red on the left. Tell your child that the green side of the clock is called “Minutes Past”; and the red side is called “Minutes To”.

The three simple steps for a child telling the time are:

Step 1: Read the number at the end of the long hand

Step 2: Say which side of the clock the long hand is pointing to (Minutes Past, or Minutes To)

Step 3: Read the number at the end of the short hand

Like this: 8…minutes to…2

It’s that simple!

Also available in a watch.

EasyRead Time Teacher was started by Roger Shackleton, based in Sydney and a winner of the Australian Design Award. He designed the EasyRead Dial and the Three Step Teaching System after finding it extremely difficult to teach his own children to tell the time using regular analogue clocks. Roger’s designs have been so successful that the clocks are now available in Europe and North America.

This clock is easy to use. The teaching guide is simple. My 8 year old son can now read the time from the “Easyread Clock” rather than heading to his digital clock. Ticks the learning box!

  2. Loren

Telling the time in under a minute! Wonderful product. Fun. Easy. I am getting told the time every few minutes. It’s helping to keep my son on task, & me too.

  3. Linda

Perfect to help our primary school kids learn the time and how to manage their time.
    Easily incorporated in our home.

  4. JUDY

Clock is excellent for teaching the time to pre schoolers and older children and is fun too.

  5. Neen

It took about 2 or 3 times for my daughter (7) & now she can tell the time!
It is wonderful & I can’t say enough positive things about it.
I recommend it to everyone, for any age!

My 8 and 6 year olds were interested from the get go due to the colourful bright design. They learnt to read the clock after two tries. Now it helps get them get a sense of how long time is as they like watching the clock hands sweep by while eating breakfast and getting ready for school. Us parents love the silent second hand – no ticking! Just need to get the kids to transfer this knowledge to “regular” clocks.

Love this clock. We are a homeschooling family and our assessor was recently out and made comments about how great he thought it was as does everyone else. It’s bright and has heightened my children’s curiosity and interest in learning to tell the time. Even my legally blind mother can read it at the height we have it.

Fantastic clock, awesome size for beginner learners. Easy to read…
Our 4 & 6 yr old love it.

i chose this from a number of clocks online because it has the minutes numbering from 12 in both directions, the long hand is clearly long, and all features on the face are easy to understand. The whole learning experience is simple and logical. I bought it for a smart 3 year old and she manages well, not perfect yet, but getting there.
